Resume:

This is a 26 minutes document based on interviews with American oil platform workers of the 1920's to the present. It is an insight into the work, the history and the stories that have come to make the legend that is a roughneck.

The film was shot in California and West Texas, taking interviews from predominately four retired roughnecks and embellished by material shot on and around rigs at both locations.

The primary objective of the film is to present a personal history of an important part of the legendary, American blue collar workforce in an industry that has shaped the very basis of this century.

The film is an intimate and personal portrayal of their lives, avoiding any historical issues, therefore letting the true personality of these people shine.

The film was shot on 16mm by a small crew of young film-makers. The director wanted to give the film both a strong visual identity, without compromising the interviewees. The editing and sound are raw to keep as much integrity as possible.

In conclusion, the film is a valid insight into an all but forgotten American legend.
